The 19th Reign started with a promise of a new year for the Imperial Court of Toronto with the election of Maria Delmonte as our Empress. Since there had been no Emperor Candidates, she was to reign alone. Maria had been the only Candidate in our history to have been elected twice by the community to reign. With the force of the strong 'Spanish Contingency' behind her the year started off with a radiant and resounding bang.
As had been the case, during her first reign, Maria was no longer Empress in April 2006. The College of Monarchs appointed Emperor XIX, XVIII Nelson Jeronimo and Empress XVIII Madame as Regents for the remainder of the year.
From that moment forward, the year continued to gain momentum and leading into Coronation 2006, looked to be the most successful reign in quite some time. Charities of Choice for the year had been Casey House. At the Coronation Ball, a cheque was presented to Casey House for $20,000.00.
Madame was a recipient of the Jose Honor in 2008. |
